Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-04 · Version 1.0
By connecting your mining hardware to stratum+tcp://maenpolder.com:3333 or by using the website at maenpolder.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Service description
Maenpolder is a Bitcoin mining-pool service operated by Maenda Media (the "Operator"). It accepts hashrate from connected miners, generates block templates from a Bitcoin Core full node, and distributes block rewards directly via the coinbase transaction of any block found.
Operating modes:
- Solo mode: when a connected miner finds a block, the entire block reward (minus pool fee) is paid in coinbase to the bitcoin-address that miner used as username.
- Pool mode (PPLNS-style, when enabled): block rewards are distributed pro-rata to recent miners' contributions via a multi-output coinbase, in proportion to shares submitted within the recent share window.
The service is non-custodial: at no point does the Operator hold or control miners' funds. All payouts are made via the Bitcoin protocol's coinbase mechanism, which is enforced by the network itself.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and legally permitted to use Bitcoin services in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for compliance with your local laws (taxes, energy regulations, electronic-equipment standards, etc.).
The service is not available to entities or persons subject to international sanctions (OFAC, EU consolidated list, UN). The Operator may refuse service to any address or IP that appears on such lists.
3. Fees
The current pool fee is 1% of all block rewards (when pool-mode launches; currently 0% during the open-beta phase). The fee is deducted via a fee-output in the coinbase of each found block — never via a separate transaction.
Fee changes will be announced at least 14 days in advance on this website. Continued use after fee changes constitutes acceptance.
4. No guarantees
Bitcoin mining is a probabilistic, lottery-style activity. The Operator makes no guarantee that:
- The pool will find any block in any given timeframe;
- Your specific shares will result in payout;
- The service will be available at any time (best-effort uptime, no SLA);
- Hardware-, energy-, or operational-costs are recovered;
- Bitcoin price or network conditions remain stable.
Mining at a loss is your sole risk.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide a valid bitcoin address as username. We perform basic format-validation, but you bear full responsibility for typos, address-ownership, and reward routing. Rewards sent to invalid or unowned addresses cannot be recovered.
- Operate hardware in compliance with applicable law (electrical, fire, zoning, noise).
- Pay your own energy costs and report your own taxes.
- Do not attempt to exploit, overload, or attack the service.
- Do not submit invalid or fraudulent shares.
6. Acceptable use
The following are prohibited:
- Submitting hashrate from compromised, stolen, or unauthorized hardware;
- Withholding-attack or block-shadowing patterns;
- DDoS or DoS attempts against the service or other users;
- Submitting from sanctioned jurisdictions or known-bad addresses;
- Any activity that would cause the Operator legal or reputational harm.
Violations may result in immediate disconnection without notice and forfeiture of any pending shares.
7. Intellectual property
The Maenpolder name, logo, and brand are trademarks of Maenda Media. The dashboard source code may be released under an open-source license (subject to a separate LICENSE file). You retain all rights to your own data, stats, and mining contributions.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, the Operator's aggregate liability arising from or related to the service shall not exceed €100 (one hundred euros), or the amount of fees actually deducted from your blocks in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater.
The Operator is not liable for: lost mining time, energy costs, hardware damage, market price movements, lost block rewards due to network forks or orphaned blocks, third-party DDoS attacks, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator against any claims arising from your misuse of the service, your hardware, your jurisdictional non-compliance, or your tax obligations.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate the relationship at any time by simply ceasing to connect. The Operator reserves the right to refuse service to specific addresses, IPs, or jurisdictions for legal, security, or operational reasons.
11. Modifications
These Terms may be updated. Material changes will be announced on the website. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes arising hereunder shall be exclusively submitted to the competent courts of the Netherlands, save where mandatory consumer-protection rules direct otherwise.
13. Severability
If any provision is held invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.
